We are looking for an experienced software engineering manager to lead our team in the development and maintenance of Linux kernels for the Ubuntu Linux distribution. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a distributed team of software engineers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">

  • Significant programming experience in C, with proficiency in Python, Golang, or other similar languages;

    ">

  • Substantial experience with operating system kernel internals and concepts, with a strong understanding of Linux;

    ">

  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers, with excellent leadership and communication skills;

    ">

  • Ability to coordinate between multiple distinct teams of differing technical focus to achieve common goals;

    ">

  • Familiarity with version control practices, ideally with git;

    ">

  • Prior experience developing with software packaging formats, with direct Ubuntu/Debian/Snap experience being highly regarded;
