Cloud Data Engineering Manager

The role of the Cloud Data Engineering Manager is to lead teams focused on scalable data solutions for cloud-based machines. This involves managing a team that writes code in Python and implements modern operational practices for data applications at scale.

  • You will oversee the development of large-scale data systems and ensure they are fault-tolerant and mission-critical.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and lead by example to foster a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
  • Demonstrate sound engineering skills by contributing code when needed and setting expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Advocate agile software development practices and develop great engineering and organizational practices.

About the Role

  • This is a full-time position requiring work from home with global travel twice yearly for internal events of one or two weeks duration.
  • Experience running in production and at scale, preferably Big Data or MySQL is highly desirable.
  • A software engineering background, preferably with Python and Golang experience is essential.
