Steel Plant Development Engineer

Job Description:

This role involves developing and improving facilities at the JFE Steel plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing improvements, including feasibility studies, basic planning, and project execution.

Main responsibilities include coordination with design companies during detailed design execution, equipment and material requisition, vendor control, and coordination with contractors during construction execution.

The engineer will also be involved in pre-commissioning and trial runs, acceptance inspections, and project documentations.

  • Mainly assigned for on-site work in Japan, the candidate is required to have a continuous long dispatch in Japan.
  • The engineer will also be responsible for designing steel plants, including preliminary planning, design calculations of machine parts, equipment, structure, and piping.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS in Mechanical Engineering; PRC Licensed Mechanical Engineer
  • 5-7 years experience in Steel Manufacturing Company as Mechanical Engineer in-charge for development & improvement of machineries and plant facilities or as mechanical equipment engineer
  • Skilled in reading and understanding 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Dedicated to staying in Japan for a long-term (3 years and succeeding years thereof)
  • Able to adopt to Japanese work culture and work environment
  • Must be willing and interested to work in Steel Plant Industry
  • Dedicated in learning Nihongo (Japanese Language) in a fast phase to have better understanding of work and able to communicate well with Japanese Staff and counterparts
  • Able to pass all in-house examinations for different Nihongo levels within the duration of probationary period
  • With experience in project management an advantage
  • Knowledgeable in CAD and Analysis software operation is an advantage
  • Proficient in using MS Office
