Job Description

The DME Collections and Revenue Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing and collections process. This position is responsible for interacting with insurance companies to resolve billing guidelines, coding, and denials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in confirming tickets in Brightree for re-orders to generate accurate billing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CMS guidelines and adhere to NUCC standards.
  • Review and work electronic submission rejections to minimize delays.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Supervisor and Director of Sales & Finance & Operations to optimize collections.
  • Verify and post incoming cash for established payors, as well as any denials or recoupments included in insurance EOBs.
  • Regularly review outstanding A/R to identify claims requiring follow-up to prevent write-offs.
  • Communicate concerns or trends to the immediate supervisor and biller for further discussion.
  • Work closely with Case Managers and Patient Care Coordinators to ensure clean billing and collectable revenue.
Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of basic office operations and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks when workload is abundant.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance in accordance with the company's Employee Manual and HIPAA manual.
