Job Description

The Communications Network Specialist is a critical role within our organization, responsible for the assessment, configuration, and maintenance of local communications networks (LCNs) at various sites. This position requires integrating LCN components with surveillance systems such as radar, AIS, and EO/IR.

This is a nationwide project, and we need someone who is willing to travel and take on assignments at various project sites across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of local communications networks across multiple sites.
  • Assist in integrating LCN components with surveillance systems, including radar, AIS, EO/IR, and COP platforms.
  • Collaborate with ICT, HF/VHF, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, stable, and efficient communications.
  • Contribute to the planning and recommendation of equipment procurement, installation, and long-term sustainment.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to personnel on LCN operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of direct experience in designing, installing, and maintaining Local Communication Networks (LCNs).
  • Familiarity with maritime and coastal surveillance communications infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of HF/VHF/UHF radio systems and their configuration, operation, and maintenance for maritime and coastal surveillance applications.
  • Ability to provide technical support, conduct system diagnostics, and recommend solutions for optimizing communications infrastructure performance.
