Job Summary:

A Sales Support role is an independent position responsible for administrative tasks, assisting the sales team, interacting and collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, and managing third-party partners. This role requires commercial and pricing knowledge, along with excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Functions:

  • Responsible for rates sourcing and tariff updating from Accredited Network Agents, Co-loaders, Third Party Suppliers, Shipping Lines, and Airlines.
  • To administer sales support functions towards strengthening sales and marketing initiatives by the Business Development Team.
  • To provide sales support to Sales personnel requiring assistance such as quotation preparation in urgent situations, agent's coordination, administrative functions within Sales, Operations, and other relevant responsibilities.
  • Tasked to ensure that Bookings and Shipping instructions from the sales team are in order prior to turnover to operations.

Administrative Functions:

  • Receiving accomplished SI from Sales Personnel to double-check the accuracy of details, especially the indicated buying rates, to avoid errors prior to turnover of SI to operations.
  • Weekly consolidation of reports for Sales Personnel such as Itineraries, Pipeline, Forecast, and other reports required by the General Manager.
  • Freight negotiations with Shipping lines, Airlines, Third Party Suppliers, Co-Loaders, and Agents.
  • Consolidation of supplier documentary requirements and details for Accreditation.
  • Respond to RFQ's and RFP's from Agents, Sales requests, and other internal customers.
  • Tariff updating and consolidation of rates from suppliers, carriers, and sub-cons.
  • Adhere to the compliance & ethics policies of the company.
  • Processing inbound queries from customers, company branches, and accredited agents.
  • Clients pre-qualification processes with guidance from the General Manager.
  • Other responsibilities that may be assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience as a Sales support in the international freight industry, preferably from an International Freight Forwarder and shipping lines.
  • Must have a commercial and pricing understanding.
  • Ability in commercial, pricing, operations, and customer service.
  • Have a technical understanding to support the requirements of the sales person.
  • Experience in handling RFQ's and bidding for the companies.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office, Outlook, social media and digital platforms, and logistics systems – advantageous.
  • Excellent English skills in both written and oral.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to cope with repetitive or continuous support queries.
