Job Description

Sophi Inc is seeking a skilled Finance Lead to supervise the accounting team's daily operations, focusing on payroll, treasury, accounts receivable/payable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with government regulations (PEZA, BIR, SEC) and lead initiatives for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance.
  2. Forecasting and Budgeting: Prepare forecasts, budget variance reports, and support strategic financial planning.
  3. Government Compliance: Oversee government compliance and reporting (PEZA, BIR, SEC), ensuring accuracy and adherence.
  4. Audit Coordination: Coordinate with auditors and facilitate successful external and internal audits.
  5. Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
  6. Budgeting Process: Assist in the annual budgeting process, aligning it with corporate goals.
  7. Budget Variance Analysis: Track budget variances and analyze discrepancies, providing management insights.
  8. Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies across finance, payroll, and treasury operations.
  9. Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members to enhance productivity and performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  2. Government Compliance: Proficiency in government compliance and reporting (PEZA, BIR, SEC).
  3. Payroll and Treasury: Knowledge of payroll, treasury, and accounts receivable/payable processes.
  4. Financial Software: Advanced skills in financial software and Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions.
  5. Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations, ensuring compliance.
  6. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in all finance functions.
  7. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  8. Communication Skills: Effective communication and leadership skills to guide and mentor team members.
  9. Problem-Solving: Problem-solving abilities to identify issues and implement process improvements.
  10. Customer Service: Customer service orientation to address internal and external financial inquiries.
Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Accounting Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on government compliance.
  3. Leadership Experience: Leadership experience in finance or accounting roles.
  4. BPO Experience: Prior experience in a BPO setting or fast-paced environment is an advantage.
  5. Compliance Record: Proven track record in handling compliance and reporting with PEZA, BIR, and SEC.
  6. CPA Designation: CPA designation is highly preferred.
