As a seasoned professional in software development, you will play a pivotal role in transforming vast trade datasets into actionable insights. Your expertise will drive architectural decisions, ensuring systems are reliable, efficient and scalable. This is a highly technical role where your skills will have a direct impact on the development of cutting-edge tools that shape how businesses and journalists uncover truth and opportunity from global trade data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and scale complex web applications and services that meet high performance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions that unlock insights from massive trade datasets.
  • Drive architectural decisions, prioritizing reliability, efficiency and maintainability.
  • Mentor peers, share expertise and contribute to engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, code quality, security).
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency and system resilience, implementing innovative solutions.
  • Stay at the forefront of technology by evaluating and integrating new frameworks, tools and processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in web application development in high-growth, high-traffic environments.
  • Deep understanding of core programming principles (SOLID, DRY, KISS, YAGNI) and design patterns.
  • Proven experience in architecting and building modern, progressive web applications and services.
  • Expertise in building and consuming APIs, ideally within a microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in one of the following Front-end frameworks: React or Angular.
  • Experience with automated testing and TDD.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
  • Skilled in web server configuration (Nginx, Apache).
