Job Description

As a skilled Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality front-end development with clean code, modern tooling, and best practices. You'll work closely with the lead developer, implementing complex builds and solving technical challenges as part of the team.

This role involves translating designs and requirements into maintainable, performant code. You will apply advanced site optimisation techniques such as Core Web Vitals, caching, lazy loading, image optimisation, etc. Ensuring accessibility, responsive behaviour, and SEO best practices are consistently applied is also a key aspect of this position.

You will work with Git using a branch/pull request/merge workflow and use modern toolchains such as Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn to improve development efficiency and code quality.

The ideal candidate will have strong ability to hand-code solutions rather than rely heavily on plugins. Advanced experience with custom WordPress theme development and Shopify builds is required. Solid experience with React, including building projects in Gatsby or similar, is also necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices.
  • Proficient with CSS pre-processors like SCSS and building maintainable design systems.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data.
  • Skilled in optimising websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO.
