The role of the Financial Risk Management Specialist at Fresenius Medical Care is to focus on optimizing Working Capital KPIs, such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Bad Debt Reserves (BDR) and % current improvements to target and execute the Credit Policy for achieving high compliance levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position will work closely with the Credit and Collections Department, reporting to the Credit & Collections Supervisor.
  • The specialist performs collection activities on overdue invoices and implements effective dunning procedures.
  • Credit checks are conducted on new and existing customers to ensure risk assessment accuracy.
  • A thorough monitoring of debtor balances is performed to reduce DSO and % Current rates.
  • The Financial Risk Management Specialist ensures that all working processes are compliant with the Global Credit Policy and Level of Authority documents.
  • The role involves ensuring business processes operate effectively to maintain a high level of fiscal compliance.
  • Timely collection of current and overdue receivables is ensured through accurate and efficient processes.
  • The specialist monitors and reviews credit limits in compliance with the Global Credit Policy and communicates these credit limits with relevant regions.
  • Regular analysis and advice on local portfolios, including the A/R report, are provided to minimize losses.
  • The Financial Risk Management Specialist advises on credit risk-related processes and services to drive continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in accounting and credit collections.
  • Strong determination to meet tight deadlines is essential.
  • Natural ability to work confidently in complex business environments is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are necessary.
  • Prompt communication with other departments is crucial.
  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to work independently is desired.
  • Strong presence and credibility are highly valued.
  • Fluency in another foreign language, specifically Bahasa Malaysia, is required.
  • Inquisitive, pro-active and precise nature is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel for reporting purposes is expected.
