About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled 3D Image Conversion Specialist to transform high-resolution 2D portrait images into 3D bas-relief point cloud models for subsurface crystal engraving. This role is ideal for someone with a strong grasp of image processing, 3D modeling, and precision formatting for laser engraving systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert 2D images (JPEG/PNG) into 3D point cloud models with raised facial features (bas-relief effect)
  • Enhance image clarity and contrast to optimize depth and detail in final output
  • Ensure compatibility of point cloud files with engraving machine formats (e.g., OBJ)
  • Scale and align models to match crystal dimensions (e.g., 5cm cube)
  • Perform quality checks and deliver engraving-ready files for production

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, MeshLab, or equivalent)
  • Experience with point cloud generation and manipulation
  • Familiarity with subsurface laser engraving or similar precision manufacturing processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet formatting specifications
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple image conversions efficiently

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of bas-relief modeling techniques
  • Experience in image enhancement and depth mapping
  • Understanding of OBJ file structure and compatibility standards
  • Experienced with Point Cloud Library in converting images
