About KMC Careers

KMC Careers is a leading provider of project management services. We are seeking a qualified Global Trade Projects Director to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Initiation
    • Define project objectives/goals; determine the scope of each project as well as the project charter.
    • Coordinate with key project personnel for requirements, technical analysis, design, and documentation of solutions to meet business requirements and drive problem resolution.
  • Project Planning/Development
    • Develop and coordinate the project plan by identifying project deliverables, milestones, scheduling, and required tasks.
    • Working with stakeholders and Resource Management, determine staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to each project phase.
    • Work with assigned project staff and/or clients to gather and document project requirements. Communicate with project team to outline work plan, assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
    • Ensure that all responsibilities are clearly communicated, from requirements gathering to working with cross-functional departments to execute on the project plan.
  • Production/Execution
    • Foster collaboration from both the business and technology groups and lead issue resolution meetings during projects.
    • Manage risks throughout the project by identifying, communicating, tracking, and mitigating.
    • Meet with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. Ensure all follow-up action items are owned and closed out by the relevant owners.
  • Monitoring/Controls
    • Establish a regular meeting schedule with project teams to manage and monitor project status.
    • Create and communicate regular status reports for management, clients, and the project team.
    • Prepare project status reports and keep clients and others informed of project status and related issues.
    • Ensure completeness of all project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Closing
    • Assume responsibility for delivery by ensuring all components of the project are successfully completed.
    • Coordinate and interface with other departments for project transition.
  • Other
    • Emphasize strategic thinking as it relates to the management of assigned projects and ongoing use of the solution.
    • Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
    • Maintain good working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in projects.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) along with at least 5 years' experience with Project Management using industry best practices for project methodology.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), MS Outlook, and MS Project.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None required.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Proven leader and team player, strong client management skills, ability to work in a matrix management organization.
