Content Developer Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Content Developer to join our team. As a Content Developer, you will be responsible for creating and refining written content for various purposes, providing detailed feedback, and emphasizing clarity, style, and structure.
The ideal candidate is familiar with the concept of effective content creation, exceptionally skilled as a writer, and adept at providing written feedback on nonfiction writing with an eye to style, structure, and intellectual clarity.
This position requires a high level of skill and flexibility. You will be required to research a wide range of topics, depending on the subject matter and intended audience. Commitment is expected during peak periods when we see an increase in assignments with fixed deadlines.
Given the niche nature of our industry, candidates can expect thorough training, resources developed specifically for the role, and regular feedback from supervisors to help them grow both personally and professionally.
Main Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Collaborate with colleagues to develop essay directions, provide feedback to individuals, and edit rough drafts to fix grammar, clarity, style, flow, structure, and word count.
- Research: Conduct research to enhance work based on individual interests and profiles.
- Collaboration: Work with team members to assist with drafting, brainstorming, augmenting, and reviewing, especially regarding urgent deadlines.
- Administration and Logistics: Communicate logistical needs with other team members, organize completed assignments for distribution, draft email updates and reminders regarding assigned tasks, schedule review meetings with colleagues, take notes for team members during review meetings, and prepare meeting notes for colleagues regarding assignment status.
- Professional Development: During downtime, contribute to projects that support team growth and overall company development.
- Highest Standards and Integrity: Refrain from using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Bard because AI-generated content will automatically disqualify an application. If found to be using AI tools, termination is immediate.
Requirements:
- Exceptional English verbal and written skills with a strong grasp of grammar.
- A degree from a 4-year program in English, Literature, Journalism, Education, or related fields. Graduates from other fields are encouraged to apply, but written samples will be rigorously evaluated.
- Experience working for an education consulting firm specializing in college admissions is preferred but not necessary.
- A portfolio with at least three written samples (one creative piece and one research sample are recommended).
- Ability to work during PST hours is preferred but not necessary.
- Skillful editing and writing without AI tool reliance.
- Willingness to participate in an Internship Day before formal training. This paid day involves shadowing team members, engaging in editing tasks, experiencing how editors review and give feedback, and observing the daily workflow of the team.
