Job Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to represent our organization in sales efforts, promoting financial services to Registered Investment Advisors. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of financial markets and company policies.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with sales management to develop and execute territory sales strategies, resulting in increased sales and retention of existing assets.
  • Represent the organization and its products to advisors, effectively enabling them to identify the benefits of our offerings compared to competitors.
  • Develop new revenue opportunities and capitalize on referrals to increase sales in the territory.
  • Contact RIA firms and their advisors to provide additional information, obtain feedback, and utilize needs-based selling techniques to inquire about additional product needs.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service with RIA firms and their advisors, including meeting expectations and managing relationships.
  • Maintain critical contact relationships with firms involved in the distribution to the same market for referrals or institutional clients.
  • Monitor and analyze sales goals and activity reports to ensure accuracy and inform sales management of activities within the territory.
  • Manage discretionary expenses and travel within budget constraints.
  • Meet agreed-upon sales activity goals.
  • Attend ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of all markets and industry developments.
  • Maintain and update contact databases, including prospect information and activity in sales automation tools.
About You:
  • You possess extensive knowledge of financial markets and company policies.
  • You have demonstrated ability to interact, listen, influence, and partner in a professional and engaging manner with high-level decision-makers.
  • You have leadership skills to provide a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, motivation, efficiency, and maximum utilization of staff skills.
  • You have strong sales skills required: negotiation and persuasion, up-selling, closing, follow-up, relationship building, and networking to persuade others of the value of a product/solution.
  • You hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • You have a Series 65 license.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a field-based territory sales position selling financial services to Registered Investment Advisors.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience building and maintaining a customer account base.
Requirements:
  • You live in the Northeast territory: Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Rhode Island.
