Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Taxation Manager to join our team at Converge ICT Solutions Inc. in Pasig.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading tax planning, compliance, and preparation efforts, as well as collaborating with financial statements and staying up-to-date with tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the preparation and filing of corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory tax returns.
  • Review tax computations, ensure compliance with local tax laws, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Ensure timely payment of taxes and filing of returns to avoid penalties or fines.
  • Lead and mentor the tax team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Assign tasks and monitor team activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and support team development.

Tax Accounting and Reconciliation:

  • Oversee tax-related general ledger entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and approve tax account reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of tax provisions in financial statements in line with IFRS.

Tax Planning and Optimization:

  • Support the Tax Manager in identifying tax-saving opportunities and strategies.
  • Analyze tax implications of business operations, transactions, and projects, providing recommendations to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the company.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during tax audits, providing all necessary documentation and responses.
  • Address tax-related queries from regulatory authorities, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Ensure the company's compliance with tax-related internal controls and policies.

SAP Tax Module Management:

  • Utilize SAP for managing tax data, calculations, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to optimize SAP functionalities for tax reporting and compliance.
  • Resolve issues related to tax configurations in SAP and recommend improvements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in tax compliance, reporting, or planning, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in a telecom or large corporate environment is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with SAP (particularly tax modules) is an advantage.
  • Certifications: CPA, CTA, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Experience in direct communication with BIR and LGU required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of local tax regulations (e.g., corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax).
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and tax reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
