Job Summary

The Livestock Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring animal care, production processes, and farming activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. This role involves managing farm staff, ensuring the health and welfare of the swine herd, and maintaining high standards of productivity and biosecurity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise Daily Operations: Oversee the daily care, feeding, breeding/rearing, and health management of the swine herd, including biosecurity measures.
  2. Manage Farm Staff: Direct and supervise farm workers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  3. Monitor Health and Welfare: Regularly check the health of the swine herd, administer treatments, and vaccinations as needed.
  4. Implement SOPs: Develop and manage standard operating procedures, work instructions, and programs to ensure high productivity.
  5. Maintain Accurate Records: Record herd performance, health treatments, and production data accurately.
  6. Enforce Biosecurity: Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent disease introduction and spread.
  7. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all farming equipment and facilities are properly maintained.
  8. Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate with departments to ensure adequate supplies of feed, medications, and other necessities.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all farm operations comply with local and government regulations.
  10. Budgeting: Prepare budget and ensure unit costs are within budget limits.
  11. Volume Coordination: Coordinate with swine CSR for hog declaration and volume available for sale.
  12. Relieving Supervisors: Assist the Farm Manager in relieving other farm supervisors in monitoring and implementing procedures and programs.
  13. Third-Party Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the services of third-party manpower service providers.

People Development:

  1. Performance Monitoring: Supervise, monitor, and evaluate the performance of direct subordinates.
  2. IDP Building: Build Individual Development Plans and provide interventions for the growth and development of direct subordinates.
  3. Third-Party Services: Monitor the services of third-party manpower service providers in the Breeding and Gestation section.

Other Tasks:

  1. Committee Membership: Appointed membership to committees whenever necessary.
  2. Company Programs: Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management, etc.
  3. Expansion Projects: Participate in expansion projects and/or project improvements of the swine division as assigned.
  4. Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks related to the job as may be assigned by the immediate superior.

Food Safety:

  1. Quality Policy: Ensure execution of quality and food safety policy, standards, and regulations within the team.
  2. Reporting Problems: Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management system to identified authorities.
