Junior Packaging Designer Role

We are seeking a Junior Packaging Designer to join our team and support the development of product packaging. This role combines creativity with attention to detail, ensuring that all packaging meets brand guidelines, communicates product value, and adheres to technical/production and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in packaging design, preferably with at least 1 year in a coordinator or similar role. Intermediate proficiency in design software is required, preferably Adobe Illustrator. Experience with Photoshop is strongly preferred, and familiarity with tools like Slack, Asana or other project management tools, and Propel is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creative Asset Development & Execution
  • Prepare consistent print-ready artwork alongside the Compliance team, ensuring that all brand guidelines, legal requirements, and deadlines are met.
  • Adapt existing packaging designs across formats, sizes, and product lines.
  • Support the development and refinement of MaryRuth's packaging assets to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Work closely with Product Development and Compliance teams to support in creating new and updated packaging that aligns with regulatory requirements and translating brand and product needs into clear, compelling packaging solutions that enhance the customer experience.
  • Share design drafts and packaging mockups for review and feedback.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in packaging design, preferably with at least 1 year in a coordinator or similar role.

  • Demonstrated experience in packaging design for DTC and Retail is preferred; CPG experience also a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to present creative ideas effectively.

Work Environment
  • This is a full-time (40h/week), paid, hourly, non-exempt, remote position.
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • This role involves sitting most of the time but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
