Technical Leadership Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to take on a technical leadership role, where you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Python engineers working remotely in global locations.

  • In this position, you will have the opportunity to hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and hands-on career development for your team members.
  • You will also demonstrate sound engineering principles by directly contributing code yourself.
  • The goal of this position is to plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects, as well as set and manage expectations with other engineering and operations teams.
  • You will coordinate with management and internal and external stakeholders or customers, advocate for modern agile software development practices, help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
  • Growing a healthy collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values is also a key aspect of this role.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, ensuring they are growing as engineers, doing valuable work, and finding satisfaction in their career.

  • You will be expected to display technical leadership by leveraging a solid background in software development, so that you can challenge and grow your team members.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and developing teams, as well as having a track record of hiring, coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, and hands-on career development.
  • You will also be expected to demonstrate sound engineering principles by directly contributing code yourself.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • You must love developing and growing people and have a track record of doing it.
  • You should be knowledgeable and passionate about agile software development.
  • You must love leading, coaching, and mentoring software developers - especially Python ones.
  • You should be knowledgeable in cloud computing concepts & technologies.
  • You should be comfortable administrating Linux servers, including their storage and networking.
  • You must have hands-on experience with software automation.
  • You should be organized and want your team to deliver high-quality software in a timely manner.
  • You must be a lifelong learner.
