API Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled API software engineer to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will play a key part in designing, developing and maintaining high-performance scalable and reliable APIs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop scalable reliable and high-performance APIs as part of the team.
  • Contribute to system scoping drafting technical specifications and conducting code reviews.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for backend infrastructure with a strong focus on scalability reliability and maintainability.
  • Design and implement robust test cases for new APIs and integration capabilities.
  • Deploy changes and execute migrations in an agile iterative manner while ensuring backward compatibility.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing through code reviews and technical sessions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across various services and infrastructure layers.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in backend software development with a strong focus on public-facing API products.
  • Deep knowledge of full-stack technologies required to build and run APIs; experience with FastAPI is desirable.
  • Expertise in RESTful API design and implementation ensuring scalability security and performance.
  • Proven experience with microservices architecture and event-based technologies such as webhooks.
  • Applied AI tools and technologies in API development and integration workflows.
  • Proficient in SQL and advanced database design with strong skills in performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools like Datadog New Relic or similar.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD methodologies and practical experience in pipeline automation.
  • Strong experience working with AWS particularly services like API Gateway Lambda and the Serverless Stack.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
  • Excellent communication collaboration and leadership skills.
