We are seeking a skilled Lead Power BI Developer to spearhead our data and business intelligence initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in working with complex data models and Business Intelligence solutions.

  • Conduct customer meetings to determine reporting requirements.
  • Understand and work with customers on Power BI Licensing, including the limits/advantages of each licensing platform.
  • Develop high-performing star schema data models for use with Power BI, incorporating proper calculated columns and measures.
  • Create Power BI solutions for customers, encompassing data import from multiple sources, report building, dashboard creation, and appropriate data element development using DAX and source queries.
  • Guide customers on deploying Power BI solutions to the Power BI service (Gateways, DirectQuery, DataFlows, Data Updates).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience managing/leading a team.
  • 8+ years working with data and business intelligence solutions on the Microsoft tool stack for Business Intelligence (SSRS, Power BI, or PowerPivot (Excel) or PerformancePoint), or other vendor Business Intelligence tools (Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, SAP).
  • Working knowledge of TSQL, data modeling, reporting using Power BI or other Microsoft tools.
  • Experience creating comprehensive Power BI report solutions based on business questions with linked content, drilldowns, and nested parameters.
  • Dynamic measure designs using advanced DAX techniques.
  • Knowledge of data mashups and transformations using Power Query/M language.
  • Utilize Databricks platform to develop, implement, and optimize data pipelines and workflows.

  • Power BI tenant and workspace management to support development, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with analytics and custom visualizations for Power BI using Python, R.
  • Advanced SQL including some query tuning.
  • Experience identifying data quality.
  • Experience deploying Power BI solutions to the Power BI Report Server (on-premises).
  • Experience deploying Power BI solutions using Power BI Embedded.
  • Deploying cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure data services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL DB.
