Backend Developer Job Description

This is a job opportunity for a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the design and implementation of server-side systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power the functionality of applications. They will also be responsible for collaborating with front-end developers, product managers, and other technical teams to deliver a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement server-side systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and security
  • Develop server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power the functionality of applications
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other technical teams to deliver a seamless user experience
  • Implement best practices for data security, encryption, and user privacy to protect sensitive data
  • Regularly review and refactor code to improve efficiency, reduce technical debt, and ensure maintainability
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and deploy new features
  • Leverage cloud technologies to deploy and scale backend applications
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and perform debugging to ensure the stability and reliability of applications
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices for backend development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
  • At least 6-8 years experience with proven track record of successful project implementations
  • Experience in a supervisory/people manager role
  • Strong experience with backend languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, Go, or Node.js
  • Proficient in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)
  • Solid experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs or GraphQL APIs
  • Familiarity with popular backend frameworks such as Django (Python), Spring Boot (Java), or Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with Git for version control and collaboration
  • Knowledge of OAuth, JWT, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms
  • Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including serverless technologies and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
