We are a team seeking a Staff Accountant to join our organization.

The primary role of the Staff Accountant is to be responsible for various accounting tasks, including journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation.

This position will involve working with financial data and reports, as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills, as well as 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience. They should also have a BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics, and advanced knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively and meet business-critical deadlines. They should also be skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills, and have good work ethic and outstanding time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform sales reporting and analysis
  • Record and monitor cash collections
  • Perform account reconciliations and analysis
  • Work with the team on implementing and managing workflows and the closing process
  • Prepare clear and concise workpapers and analysis
  • Report on financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Prepare journal entries, schedules, and matrices
  • Execute journal entries and month-end close with little supervision
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and lead special projects
  • Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook), as well as QuickBooks and other Finance & Accounting related software
