System Software Engineer - Cloud-Native Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled System Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud-native software and Linux, with experience in packaging software for Debian and Ubuntu.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality code, collaborating with a distributed team, and ensuring the best possible developer and operator experience with Go.
  • They will work on critical toolchains involved in the making of Ubuntu, leveraging their experience and passion in Go to make Ubuntu the best platform to develop, distribute and consume software built with Go.
  • Applicants should be passionate about the future of Go, of Ubuntu, mindful of the dynamics of the open-source ecosystem, and equally aware of the needs of large but innovative organizations.

Requirements
  • Relevant Go experience, ideally in cloud-native software and Linux
  • Experience in packaging software for Debian and Ubuntu
  • Long-time Linux user
  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
