Expert Vulnerability Fixer

This role involves utilizing advanced technical skills to identify, analyze, and rectify security flaws in open-source packages.

As part of a dedicated team, you will work collaboratively to track, research, and resolve newly discovered vulnerabilities in the Ubuntu ecosystem.

  • Deliver high-quality fixes for security vulnerabilities in open-source software
  • Maintain accurate records of vulnerability discovery, research, and resolution across the Ubuntu platform
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure vulnerability patches are developed and implemented efficiently
  • Conduct thorough source code audits to pinpoint potential security risks

Proven expertise in identifying common types of security vulnerabilities and implementing effective countermeasures is required.

Familiarity with coordinated disclosure practices, open-source development methodologies, and proficiency in multiple programming languages (C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, PHP or JavaScript/TypeScript) is essential.

Strong knowledge of Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred), coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to thrive in this role.
