Quality Assurance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate has previously built an automated test environment from the ground up, with strong experience using Cypress or Playwright alongside BrowserStack, and possesses excellent JavaScript engineering skills.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for building out our automated testing system and suite of automated tests using open source/commercial frameworks & libraries. They will work on both browser-based UI testing and API testing, collaborating with our manual QA engineer to prioritise which tests need automation.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will also partner with engineers to build efficient processes for reporting issues discovered by automated tests and ensuring effective follow-up. A high level of JavaScript engineering skill is required, as well as previous experience collaborating closely with Software Engineers.

This role requires strong time management skills, as well as ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is necessary to collaborate with our global team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build automated testing system and suite of automated tests using open source/commercial frameworks & libraries.
  • Work on both browser-based UI testing and API testing.
  • Collaborate with manual QA engineer to prioritise tests needing automation.
  • Partner with engineers to build efficient issue reporting processes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience building automated test environment from ground up.
  • Strong experience with Cypress and/or Playwright.
  • Proficiency with BrowserStack for web testing.
  • High level of JavaScript engineering skill.
  • Previous experience collaborating with Software Engineers.
