University Outreach Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and persistent professional to support the launch of a platform dedicated to helping students with celiac disease navigate college dining and campus living.

This role involves identifying and connecting with campus dining professionals across U.S. colleges and universities to schedule video interviews and gather critical information about gluten-free accommodations.

Key Responsibilities:Research & Contact Identification
  • Conduct thorough research and identify appropriate contacts at target universities, including: campus dietitians and nutritionists, dining services directors and managers, student wellness coordinators, and disability services staff.
  • Verify contact information and update the outreach database accurately.
  • Prioritize outreach based on university rankings and strategic importance.
Outreach & Communication
  • Conduct professional phone calls to universities and specific departments in a timely manner.
  • Send personalized email outreach using provided templates that highlight the mission and goals of the project.
  • Follow up consistently on initial outreach attempts to ensure maximum impact.
  • Handle objections and redirect conversations to appropriate contacts effectively.
  • Maintain professional, warm communication that represents the mission and values of the organization.
Interview Coordination
  • Coordinate 15-20 minute video interviews with confirmed contacts across time zones and university schedules.
  • Ensure seamless interview experiences by sending confirmations and reminders in advance.
  • Provide interview questions in advance to participants to facilitate smooth interactions.
  • Reschedule interviews as needed and maintain calendar accuracy to avoid conflicts.
Database Management
  • Maintain accurate and detailed outreach trackers with all contact attempts in the CRM.
  • Update contact information, interview status, and detailed notes regularly.
  • Track outreach metrics and conversion rates to inform future strategies.
  • Generate weekly progress reports from the template to provide insights and guidance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness to make informed decisions.
Target Goals
  • Phase 1: Secure interviews with the top 100 U.S. colleges and universities.
  • Phase 2: Expand outreach to the next 250 institutions (public and private).
  • Phase 3: Reach 1,000 universities by year-end.
  • Initial Daily Target Metrics: 30 university contact attempts.
  • Weekly Target: ~150 initial contact attempts with a 10% interview confirmation rate.
