Our company is looking for a highly skilled Senior Front-End Developer. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS (Flexbox, Grid), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality front-end development with clean code, modern tooling, and best practices. You'll work closely with the lead developer to implement complex builds and solve technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver work on time and meet project deadlines by prioritizing tasks and managing your workload efficiently.

  • Collaborate with the team and be dependable and proactive by communicating effectively and providing support when needed.

  • Develop custom WordPress themes using ACF and modular CSS/JS, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and efficient.

  • Build custom Shopify themes and extend functionality as required, leveraging your expertise in React and Gatsby.

  • Translate designs and requirements into maintainable, performant code, applying advanced site optimisation techniques (Core Web Vitals, caching, lazy loading, image optimisation, etc).

  • Ensure accessibility, responsive behavior, and SEO best practices are consistently applied across all projects.

  • Troubleshoot issues across front-end, WordPress, Shopify, React, and server environments, utilizing your analytical skills to resolve problems efficiently.

  • Implement animations and micro-interactions with performance and UX in mind, creating engaging user experiences.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS (Flexbox, Grid), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).

  • Strong ability to hand-code solutions rather than rely heavily on plugins, demonstrating a deep understanding of web development principles.

  • Advanced experience with custom WordPress theme development and Shopify builds, showcasing your expertise in e-commerce and content management systems.

  • Solid experience with React, including building projects in Gatsby or similar, highlighting your proficiency in front-end frameworks.

  • Deep understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices, ensuring seamless integration with your front-end developments.

  • Proficient with CSS pre-processors like SCSS and building maintainable design systems, promoting consistency and efficiency across projects.

  • Experience with JavaScript tooling (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn), enabling you to optimize and streamline your development workflow.

  • Familiarity with Git workflows in a collaborative team environment, facilitating smooth communication and version control.

  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data, ensuring robust and reliable data exchanges.

  • Skilled in optimising websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO, enhancing the overall user experience and search engine rankings.

  • Comfortable troubleshooting server-related issues (LAMP/LEMP environments, hosting setups), resolving technical problems efficiently.

  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with colleagues and communicate with clients.
