Backend Engineer

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer with strong infrastructure and DevOps expertise to lead the development of our platform's backend software solutions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create scalable, robust software solutions using AWS, Docker, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.
  • Oversight of the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
  • Collaboration with peers, code reviews, and driving technical excellence.
  • Development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable deployments.
Infrastructure & DevOps:
  • Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using CDK, Terraform, Docker, and AWS.
  • Automation of deployments, system configuration, and monitoring.
  • User access controls, permissions, and infrastructure-level security across environments.
  • Exploration of agentic workflows and AI-driven operations tooling to enhance infrastructure scalability and efficiency.
Monitoring, Observability & Reliability:
  • Implementation and maintenance of monitoring systems using AWS CloudWatch, Sentry, and Jira Service Management.
  • Service management to track application health and system reliability.
  • Definition and management of alerts, logs, and dashboards that proactively identify and resolve performance or availability issues.
  • Response to incidents in production environments and post-incident reviews to drive improvements.
  • Design and execution of disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure platform resilience.
Security:
  • Application of security best practices across code, infrastructure, and deployments.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to uphold compliance and system integrity.
  • Stay current with emerging AI-related security considerations and tools.
  • Identification of opportunities to enhance reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluation and integration of new tools and technologies aligned with our DevOps and product delivery practices.
  • Contribution to a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and shared ownership.
