This Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be accountable for building and deploying innovative features that improve customer experiences every day. From trailblazing AI hiring tools to fully automated payroll solutions, every component of our platform is carefully designed to disrupt the employment industry for the better.

Our Product and Engineering teams delivered almost 1,000 new features last year. As a Senior Engineer, you'll play a vital role in accelerating our product strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving your squad to develop critical features for customers
  • Collaborating closely with designers, product managers and UX specialists to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Writing automated tests for production codes
  • Developing and maintaining key components of web applications
  • Conducting testing and code reviews for yourself and colleagues
  • Mentoring Junior Engineers within your squad
Requirements

To succeed at Employment, you'll need to embody our core values and exhibit the following skills and qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in server-side and RESTful API development
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Ruby, Python, TypeScript, etc.
  • Proven experience implementing, maintaining and deploying full-stack web technologies
  • Strong understanding of best practice software engineering processes, testing and Agile methodology
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for learning, sharing knowledge and mentoring team members
  • Openness to expanding expertise into frontend technologies and growing into a Full Stack Engineer role
