Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced iSeries Expert to manage, maintain, and optimize our AS/400 (iSeries) environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in system administration, security, backups, and performance tuning for AS/400 systems. This role requires working full-time during EST hours and collaborating with IT teams to ensure system stability and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  1. Configuring and supporting AS/400 (iSeries) systems.
  2. Performing system upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
  3. Managing user access, security policies, and role-based permissions.
  4. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventive maintenance.
  5. Performing regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
  6. Ensuring compliance with IT security standards and best practices.
  7. Collaborating with application and infrastructure teams for seamless integration.
  8. Providing technical support and incident resolution during or after business hours depending on severity of issue.
  9. Printer management, user management, jobs monitoring and troubleshooting.

Requirements:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in IBM AS/400 (iSeries) administration.
  • Expertise in OS/400, CL programming, job scheduling, and system tuning.
  • Strong understanding of backup/recovery strategies, HA/DR solutions.
  • Experience with iSeries security, auditing, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of SQL, RPG, and DB2 for iSeries is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
