About the Role

The Accounting & Tax Lead Officer assists senior management in daily deliverables to provide exceptional service to clients. They provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports, submitting them to the client, and coaching junior staff in the department.

This role is ideal for a professional with sound knowledge of local tax (CIT, VAT, EWT, FWT, FBT) and accounting policy (PFRS), as well as experience in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules. Knowledge in Xero, Quick Books or any ERP System is an advantage.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Handle full set of accounts and bank operations for clients;
  • Assist in managing daily work with high complexity, including closing full set of books;
  • Maintain relationships with clients and internal/external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, BIR and other government departments on client company's affairs, accounts, bank accounts, tax filing, etc.;
  • Manage queries with internal and external 3rd party stakeholders;
  • Assist Manager/Supervisor in preparing proposals for clients;
  • Supervise Senior Officers, Junior Officers and Associates, and review draft deliverables;
  • Assist Manager to oversee daily operations of the Accounting department and implement internal control procedures;
  • Assist Manager/Supervisor to train & coach junior staff;
  • Follow up on Debtors list (client invoices);
  • Prepare and check various reports as requested by clients;
  • Prepare and supervise accountant audits;
  • Periodic update of process documentation;
  • Liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant authorities;
  • Work with HR on recruitment activities, performance reviews, and employee relations matters;
  • Act as Treasurer and/or Directors/Officers for the local office and/or clients that may assume certain level of responsibilities and risks;
  • Update and maintain records/information in ViewPoint;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
