Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger management, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assistance in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the company's financial health.
  • Support and coordination of internal and external audit processes, ensuring all required documentation is prepared and audits run smoothly.
  • Development, implementation, and enforcement of accounting policies, procedures, and controls to improve financial efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Assistance in the preparation of departmental budgets and forecasts and support financial planning processes to align with company objectives.
  • Supervision, mentoring, and leadership of accounting staff, ensuring their professional development and efficient performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, local, state, and federal reporting requirements, and assist with timely tax filings.
  • Collaboration with other departments to support business goals and provide financial insights and guidance as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in accounting management or supervisory roles, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Expertise in accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and guide accounting staff.
