Role Summary

We're seeking an experienced Medical Claims Collector to join our team at Optum. In this critical role, you'll work closely with customers to resolve payment disputes, verify claim status, and collect unpaid claims from insurance providers.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical billing and collections, as well as experience working on the provider side. Proficiency in EPIC SYSTEM and UB04 forms, and the ability to multitask, are also essential requirements for this position.

Key Activities:
  • Resolving payment disputes through contract review.
  • Collaborating with customers to resolve claim discrepancies.
  • Verifying claim status and collecting unpaid claims from insurance providers.
  • Processing claims payments.
Requirements:
  • An education level of at least college undergrad for 2 years.
  • Strong background in medical billing/AR Collections for at least 12 months.
  • Experience working on the Provider side (hospital side).
  • Background in calling insurance (Payer) to verify claim status and payment dispute.
  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications.
