Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to lead our key AI projects, combining project management skills with a solid understanding of database systems, backend processes, and software development.

This is a long-term, fully remote role where you will oversee and manage the lifecycle of projects, ensuring timely collection and delivery of data for AI training and research.

  • Project Management:

    • Oversight and management of projects from inception to completion.

    • Customer business goal identification and needs assessment.

    • Cross-functional team collaboration to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.

    • Maintenance of clear communication with peers and stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and blockers.

    • Customer satisfaction and growth of customer accounts.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Participation in backend system development and data modeling processes.

    • Guidance on database normalization and structuring.

    • Advanced SQL query writing and review, ensuring database optimization.

    • Data cleaning, munging, and visualization using SQL and basic Python, if applicable.

  • Tool Usage:

    • Efficient management and analysis of data volumes exceeding 1 million rows.

    • Use of tools like labelstud.io for data labeling, requiring basic HTML knowledge.

  • Collaboration & Process Improvement:

    • Collaboration with team members across various roles, embodying flexibility and adaptability typical of startup environments.

    • Engagement in community activities and required meetings to enhance processes and outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally in a technical or software development context.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL for writing queries for larger volumes of data (~ 1 million rows).

  • Solid understanding of data modeling (e.g. normalization).

  • Experience with Google Sheets and/or Excel for data cleaning and handling.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, engaging stakeholders at all levels with clarity and confidence.

  • Demonstrate systematic and analytical problem-solving skills, capable of overseeing complex projects from inception to completion.
