Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at John Clements Recruitment Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a minimum of 15 years of experience, including 10 years in a managerial role.

About the Role:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development and performance.
  • Review the general ledger monthly to ensure the accuracy of postings in the accounting system.
  • Manage the internal accounting system and lead its integration in the regional HQ.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts to ensure financial stability.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and tax compliance activities.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Produce quarterly and annual financial statements and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports or statements and present them to the management.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, reports, calculations, and other schedules needed for in-house and external reporting.
  • Complete annual audits and provide recommendations.
  • Implement recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the BIR and tax/legal consultants regarding tax refund matters and other related issues.
  • Resolve complex accounting and financial issues.
  • Facilitate cash management.
  • Maintain organized records and files to document financial transactions.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
    • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an active license
    • At least 15 years of experience in Accounting with 10 years of which in a managerial role
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws, has considerable years of experience dealing with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
    • Proficient with MS Office Applications especially MS Excel
    • Experience with accounting system
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail
