Cloud Infrastructure Strategist

Job Description:

The Cloud Infrastructure Strategist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Pluxee Philippines' IT infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and security across both on-premise and cloud environments. This role involves managing the company's IT environment, focusing on migrating on-premise servers to Azure Cloud, optimizing infrastructure performance, and ensuring continuous system availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Documentation and Configuration Management:
  Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the IT infrastructure in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring all assets and configurations are properly tracked and easily accessible.
• Collaboration with Development Teams:
  Work closely with application developers and other stakeholders to ensure infrastructure aligns with the needs of the applications, promoting seamless integration and performance optimization.
• Cloud Migration and Optimization:
  Lead and execute the migration of legacy on-premise infrastructure to the cloud, ensuring a smooth transition, minimal disruption, and long-term scalability of cloud-based systems.
• Tool Implementation and Standardization:
  Implement and adopt Pluxee Global Infrastructure tools for infrastructure management, including monitoring, patching, security, backup, and CMDB solutions, to enhance operational efficiency and security.
• L2/L3 Infrastructure Support:
  Provide Level 2 (L2) and Level 3 (L3) technical support for cloud-based infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues promptly and effectively.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
  Implement and regularly test the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), ensuring that it is up-to-date and capable of quickly recovering critical systems in the event of a failure or disaster. Work to ensure the organization's infrastructure meets business continuity objectives.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Management:
  Demonstrate strong technical acumen by providing deep-dive troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Lead problem management efforts to proactively identify and resolve recurring infrastructure issues.
• ITIL and ITSM Processes:
  Utilize ITIL best practices to ensure efficient and standardized service delivery across the IT infrastructure. Knowledge of ITIL processes is mandatory. Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) is a plus.
• Monitoring Tools Proficiency:
  Be well-versed in infrastructure monitoring tool (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Nagios) to proactively monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity.

Technical Competencies:

• Network Engineering & Cloud Networking:
  Proficiency in network design, routing, switching, and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF). Expertise in cloud networking solutions, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, and cloud-based DNS. Experience with Palo Alto Networks devices, including firewalls and security solutions, is highly preferred.
• Server & Virtualization Management:
  Extensive experience with server hardware, operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM. Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration frameworks for managing scalable infrastructure is essential.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Storage Solutions: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure (preferred). Ability to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and security services. In-depth knowledge of cloud storage services (e.g., Azure Blob Storage). Strong understanding of data replication, backup strategies, and high-availability configurations.
• IT Service Management (ITSM) & ITIL Framework:
  Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices for IT service management, including incident management, change management, and problem management. Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms to manage service delivery and ensure high-quality operations across the infrastructure.
• Scripting, Automation, & Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
  Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate routine tasks, streamline operations, and improve infrastructure management efficiency. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
• Cloud Security & Compliance:
  Understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2). Experience with implementing security controls in cloud environments and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring & Performance Management:
  Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic) for monitoring system health, performance, and capacity across hybrid environments. Ability to use monitoring data to optimize infrastructure performance, anticipate capacity needs, and proactively resolve issues.
• Disaster Recovery & High Availability:
  Expertise in disaster recovery planning (DRP) and high-availability solutions for both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructures. Familiarity with cloud-native backup and recovery solutions, data replication strategies, and ensuring minimal downtime in the event of infrastructure failures.

Experiences:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field:
  (A Master's degree in IT, or a related discipline is a plus but not required.)
• Cloud Certifications (Preferred):
  Microsoft Azure AZ-700, AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ 900, SC 900, or DP 900
• IT Service Management Certifications:
  ITIL Foundation
• IT Infrastructure Certifications:
  Palo Alto Networks Certified Software Firewall Engineer (PCSFE) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cloud Infrastructure Expertise:
  10-15 years of experience managing complex hybrid IT infrastructures, with strong expertise in Azure (preferred), AWS, and GCP. Skilled in cloud migrations, cloud-native architecture, and cost optimization.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance:
  Extensive experience in cybersecurity across cloud and on-premise environments, including firewalls, IAM, encryption, and compliance with frameworks like ISO 27001, GDPR, and SOC 2.
• Virtualization & Containerization:
  Proficient in VMware, Hyper-V, and Kubernetes for managing virtualized and containerized environments.
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
  Experience designing and implementing Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to ensure infrastructure resilience and minimal downtime.
• Advanced Networking & Cloud Security:
  Strong knowledge of networking (LAN, VPNs, SD-WAN, firewalls) and securing cloud environments. Ability to manage network infrastructure across hybrid IT setups.
• Automation & IaC:
  Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to automate provisioning and management.
• Cloud Monitoring & Performance Optimization:
  Very well skilled in cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace) to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Leadership & Team Management:
  Proven leadership in managing infrastructure teams, with strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Vendor & Cost Management:
  Experience managing relationships with local vendors and also with cloud service providers and optimizing cloud costs using tools like Azure Cost Management and local cost IT Infrastructure cost as well.
• Problem-Solving & Incident Management:
  Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience in change and incident management within an ITIL or ITSM framework.

Additonal Considerations:

• A proven track record in cloud infrastructure management and cloud certifications is highly desirable.
• Continuing education or participation in relevant technical seminars/webinars is beneficial for staying current with evolving cloud technologies and industry trends.
