Water Meter Reader Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Water Meter Reader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately recording and collecting data from various types of utility meters, such as those measuring electricity and water consumption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record and collect data from utility meters, including water meters.
  • Audit meter readings to ensure accuracy and detect any irregularities or discrepancies.
  • Collect and submit accurate meter readings using electronic devices or systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of water meter systems and terminology.
  • Ability to accurately read and record meter readings from various types of water meters.
  • Physical fitness and ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods, especially in outdoor conditions.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols, especially when dealing with electrical equipment and hazardous environments.
