Job Overview

The Cloud Engineer role involves designing, implementing and maintaining scalable, reliable and secure cloud environments to support applications and services.

This position requires a skilled professional who can drive cloud strategy and ensure efficient and secure operation of cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud architecture: extensive experience with cloud architectures, particularly AWS; proficient in administering AWS services such as ECS, CloudFront, CloudFormation/Terraform, CloudWatch, IAM, and more.
  • Continuous Deployment (CD): develop and maintain automated pipelines, integrating tools to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Containers: manage and support Docker and Kubernetes to enhance scalability and flexibility.
  • Observability: implement Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solutions (e.g., New Relic) and use CloudWatch, CloudWatch Events/Alarms, syslogs, and other cloud analytics tools.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): automate tasks using IaC with tools like Terraform to streamline deployment of containers and EC2 instances.
  • Release Management: support developers with release issues, build automated release frameworks, and integrate test automation into CI/CD processes.
  • Security: apply AWS security best practices to protect infrastructure.
  • IT Operations: strong troubleshooting, server resource management, and database knowledge (SQL and NoSQL); experience with Linux and Windows servers.
  • Automation: scripting and automation using AWS Lambda, CloudWatch, and SNS for event-driven patterns.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture, security, and compliance.
  • Proficiency with observability tools and APM solutions (e.g., New Relic).
  • Experience with IaC and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Packer).
  • IT operations skills including troubleshooting, server management, database management, and network troubleshooting (DNS, SSL, domains).
  • System administration skills: Apache/Nginx configuration, OS updates, and patching.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Node.js).
  • Ability to write clear documentation (e.g., Confluence).
