Are you ready to shape the future of power systems?

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team, who will be responsible for undertaking power systems studies, developing wide-area network and individual equipment models, preparing grid connection application documents and technical reports.

This role requires an adequate understanding of electrical engineering and power systems theory relating to electricity transmission, distribution and generation, and associated control and protection principles.

Job Description

As a Power Systems Engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our company. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking power systems studies to identify potential issues and develop solutions.
  • Developing wide-area network and individual equipment models using simulation tools such as PSSE and PSCAD/EMTDC.
  • Preparing grid connection application documents and technical reports to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Interfacing with clients and other industry organizations to provide expert advice and support.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in power system modeling tools, particularly with PSCAD, PSS/E, and Power Factory.
  • Site and practical experience in a relevant area is also beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the Australian National Electricity Rule and past experience with Australian grid connection projects.
  • Power system analysis for utility-scale networks including steady state and dynamic system studies.
