This exciting position involves resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software. You will work closely with our Field, Support, and product engineering teams to maintain effective working relationships and participate in upstream communities.

As a Software Support Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing bug fixes, backporting patches, and collaborating with upstream for inclusion.
  • Reviewing code produced by other engineers and demonstrating good judgment in technical methods and techniques.
  • Prioritizing work and managing your time effectively against those priorities.
  • Participating in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation.

In order to succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Exceptional academic credentials.
  • A background in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Experience with Linux and open source software.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
  • A drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive difficult issues.
