About the Role

ASCOF Construction Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex mechanical systems, collaborating with project managers to determine project requirements, and preparing detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers to determine project requirements, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications, utilizing CAD software and other design tools.
  • Perform design and production trials, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Participate in design reviews of mechanical systems and prototypes, providing expert feedback and recommendations.
  • Review and approve documentation for quality and safety, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct research to inform design and engineering methods required for mechanical systems, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
  • Plan and execute mechanical designs using CAD software, computer simulations, and experiments to virtually test and refine designs.
  • Meet with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Document the design process, iterations, and test analytics, maintaining accurate records and facilitating knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Liaise with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence and effective project delivery.
  • Prepare technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals, ensuring clarity and concision.
  • Maintain expertise in mechanical design and control systems, staying abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and construction, preferably in the local construction industry.
  • Experience in water and waste treatment plants is an advantage.
  • Expertise in mechanical design, control systems, and CAD software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and design teams.
  • Strong presentation skills and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a willingness to work on-site.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, at our office in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
