Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Opportunity

As a seasoned cloud infrastructure engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and delivering scalable cloud solutions across multiple providers.

This position requires close collaboration with team leads, product managers, and engineers to understand technical requirements and ensure designs meet long-term business needs as we deliver cutting-edge cloud-based services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead specific cloud projects from initial design to final deployment and maintenance
  • Respond to alerts, troubleshoot, and remediate issues in cloud environments
  • Continually automate manual tasks using configuration management tools
  • Ensure high availability and scalability of cloud services
  • Coordinate with technology leads on developing, testing, and implementing global standards and procedures for:
    • Standard OS builds
    • Development environments
    • Application packaging, configuration, and deployment
    • Automated system provisioning
    • Configuration management of relevant system services
    • Deployment of OS, services, and application software updates
  • Perform vendor coordination related to the onboarding, support, and maintenance of commercial cloud services and tools
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, command line utilities, and conventional system administration tools. Experience with recent Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS releases is ideal.
  • Strong hands-on scripting skills, with expertise in multiple languages such as Python, Bash, and Ruby
  • Exposure to configuration management tools like Ansible and SaltStack
  • Experience with Agile development processes, secure cloud designs, and deployment principles, infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and delivery, configuration management techniques, and modern container-delivered code deployment in a cloud-based DevOps environment
  • Experience with AWS CLI and APIs, as well as AWS components such as EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, CloudWatch, and IAM
  • Practical experience with public cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and security groups, virtual private clouds, and identity management over AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code frameworks like CloudFormation and Terraform
  • Experience with container-based deployment technologies and frameworks (Docker, Mesos, Nomad, Kubernetes, etc.) is required
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or relevant field experience
  • Background in deploying and supporting large-scale database environments, such as Hadoop ecosystem, Elastic Search, and Postgres/MySQL
