Fire Protection Systems Designer

This job posting is for a mechanical engineer to work in fire protection systems design and estimation. The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP software, as well as proficiency in hydraulic calculations using Fire Elite or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Estimation: Design fire sprinkler systems using the mentioned software and estimate project costs accurately.
  • Hydraulic Calculations: Use Fire Elite or equivalent software for hydraulic calculations and system optimization.
  • System Layouts: Review architectural and mechanical plans to develop system layouts effectively.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients remotely on a daily basis.

The selected candidate will be required to have a strong understanding of MEP design tools, New York City Building Codes, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Planswift, Excel, and Fire Elite.
  • Knowledge of MEP design tools.
  • Strong familiarity with New York City Building Codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler design and estimation.
Work Environment:
  • This is a remote work opportunity where you can work from home.
  • The working hours are 9 AM – 5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
