Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

This is a high-level position that requires the ability to design, implement and deliver infrastructure solutions across multiple cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Linux operating systems, command line utilities and conventional system administration tools. Strong hands-on scripting skills are also required, with expertise in languages such as Python, Bash and Ruby.

Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and SaltStack is highly desirable. Additionally, knowledge of infrastructure as code frameworks such as CloudFormation and Terraform is necessary.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading specific infrastructure projects related to their core expertise, from initial design to final deployment and maintenance. They will also be expected to respond to alerts, troubleshoot and remediate issues in a timely manner.

Other key responsibilities include ensuring high availability and scalability of infrastructure services, coordinating with technology leads on developing global standards and procedures, and performing vendor coordination related to the onboarding, support and maintenance of commercial services and tools.

Ideal Skills and Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, command line utilities and conventional system administration tools.
  • Strong hands-on scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash and Ruby.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and SaltStack.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code frameworks such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Experience with AWS CLI and API's, as well as AWS components such as EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, CloudWatch and IAM.
  • Knowledge of typical public cloud services such as compute, storage, networking and security groups, virtual private clouds and identity management.
