Compensation and Benefits Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all payments and deductions of employees are properly recorded, remitted and booked. This role involves ensuring that all payables and receivables to/from employees, contractors, employment agencies and government agencies are properly accounted for, paid and collected within set deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end payroll processing including collation of data from payroll sources
- Verification of daily, weekly, monthly timesheets
- Handling complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees
- Responsible for compiling payroll data, error reconciliation, and maintenance of payroll records
- Calculation of employee mandatory contributions (SSS, HDMF and Philhealth), benefits and deductions
- Monitoring SSS Sickness/Maternity Benefit Reimbursement
- Processing Computation/Issuance of checks for approved benefits (sickness, maternity)
- Determination of tax obligations of the company and council taxes
- Preparation of payroll reports
- Confidential maintenance of pay records
- Providing answers to staff about wages, attendance, time records, and deductions
- Maintenance of payroll processing system and records
- Entry of new employee data into the company database
- Monitoring of leave
- Coordination of requests for leave and other absences
- Calculation of bonuses and allowances
- Distribution of payment statements and gathering of signed receipts (digital or paper)
- Ensure wages and tax withholdings comply with regulations
- Entry of new employees' data (e.g. bank accounts and tax identification numbers) into internal databases
- Answering questions about compensation, benefits, taxes and insurance deductions
- Preparation of employee compensation checks using payroll software
- Ensuring taxes comply with company and state regulations
- Preparation of payroll reports
- Distribution of payment statements
- Responding to employee questions about compensation, taxes, benefits, and deductions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
- At least 3-5 years of payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software
