Medical Scribe Career Overview:

As a medical scribe, you will play a vital role in the healthcare sector by providing real-time documentation of clinical interactions.

This position allows healthcare professionals to focus on patient care while handling the administrative side of encounters.

  • Document accurate and detailed patient records in real-time during virtual or recorded consultations.
  • Capture comprehensive patient histories, physical exam findings, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain and update charts, medication lists, allergies, and problem lists with precision.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as templating notes and handling visit summaries.
  • Review prior records to provide context for current visits.
  • Ensure effective communication with providers for clarification and accuracy of documentation.
  • Adhere to HIPAA-compliance and clinical standards at all times.
Requirements:
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a medical scribe or in a clinical documentation role.
  • Familiarity with medical terminologies and clinical workflows.
  • A healthcare-related degree is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with EMRs like Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth is advantageous.
  • HIPAA Certification is beneficial.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of organization.
  • Open to working night shifts.

    • Computer Memory/RAM: 8 GB.
    • Computer Operating System: At least Windows 10/11 64-bit or macOS Ventura.
    • Headset: Any USB-type headset with noise-cancelling feature.
    • Camera: Capable of clear and crisp video output.
  • Backup
    • Option 1 (Backup System)
      • Computer Processor: Intel Core i5-5000 (5th Gen or higher) or AMD Ryzen 5 or higher.
      • Computer Memory/RAM: 8 GB.
      • Computer Operating System: At least Windows 10/11 64-bit or macOS Ventura.
      • Headset: Any USB-type headset with noise-cancelling feature (Optional).
    • Option 2 (Power Supply - UPS)
      • Must be capable of powering your workstation for at least 3 hours.
      • Typically a device with 240Wh or higher will be sufficient.
      • Must be capable of accepting all the plugs required to maintain the primary device and work environment (device, monitor, modem, cell phone if using as internet backup).
