Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Folding Carton Designer with hands-on experience in structural design for folding cartons (chipboard boxes). This role is perfect for someone who thrives on precision, creativity, and technical expertise in packaging design.

This is a unique opportunity to utilize your design skills and apply them to the development of innovative packaging solutions that meet client requirements. The ideal candidate will have a passion for packaging design and excellent communication skills.

The designer will be responsible for designing and developing folding carton structures to fit specific product dimensions and client requirements, creating dielines and 3D prototypes using ArtiosCAD or Cimex CAD Design, collaborating with clients and production teams to ensure accurate specs and production readiness, recommending box styles and materials based on product protection, cost-efficiency, and branding, maintaining organized project files and version control, optimizing structural design for manufacturability and assembly, and staying up to date with industry trends and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop folding carton structures to fit specific product dimensions and client requirements
  • Create dielines and 3D prototypes using ArtiosCAD or Cimex CAD Design
  • Collaborate with clients and production teams to ensure accurate specs and production readiness
  • Recommend box styles and materials based on product protection, cost-efficiency, and branding
  • Maintain organized project files and version control
  • Optimize structural design for manufacturability and assembly
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in folding carton/structural packaging design
  • Proficient in ArtiosCAD or Cimex CAD Design
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials, die-cutting, gluing, and finishing processes
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret client needs and translate them into packaging solutions
  • Experience with various folding styles (e.g., tuck-end, crash bottom, lock bottom, sleeve, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
