**Job Title:** Admitting Staff
We are seeking a highly skilled Admitting Clerk to join our team. As an Admitting Clerk, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient admission process of patients into our healthcare facility.
Your primary duties will include:
- Interviewing incoming patients prior to admission to collect necessary information and insurance details.
- Verifying HMO validity and coverage with specific HMO companies.
- Assigning beds according to medical needs and room availability.
- Preparing and providing daily admission census copies.
- Informing attending physicians and dietary department regarding direct admissions.
- Assisting OPD patients and relatives in filing up patient data sheets and encoding information into the hospital system when necessary.
- Attending to patient and relative inquiries courteously and correctly.
- Receiving telephone calls and manning the PBX after 8:00 pm onwards.
- Preparing and monitoring decking of each department as required.
- Updating and encoding final diagnosis and other important details in the Admission Logbook.
- Maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information and protecting patient rights.
- Carrying out specified functions from the Department Head and Supervisor and making proper endorsement every start and end of the shift.
- Participating in planning for improvement of the department and maintaining cleanliness of the area.
- Maintaining accurate records and keeping a safe and confidential environment.
- Performing other assignments as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare setting, and hold a certificate in Medical Administration or a related field.
