Job Title: Slitter Operator - Metal Coil Specialist


Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Slitter Operator to join our team at North Taal Steel Corp. As a Slitter Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Slitting machines in everyday use. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality of the slitted coils and reporting any defective items to the assistant supervisor. Additionally, you will be responsible for signaling the Crane Operator to lift coils and securing strips on the recoiler. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will be essential in this role.


Key Responsibilities:



  2. Set up, operate, and maintain Slitting machines.
  3. Check the quality of the slitted coils and report any defective items to the assistant supervisor.
  4. Signal the Crane Operator to lift coils.
  5. Secure strips on the recoiler and adjust guides roller tension.
  6. Start the machine and monitor the slitting and rewinding operation.
  7. Examine cut strips for flatness, edges, and surface defects.
  8. Perform die repair, including changing roll form sections.
  9. Double-check rolls before and after the process of changing blades.
  10. Report to the assistant supervisor if the slitting machine requires repair or maintenance.

Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in Slitter Operator or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
