Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

The financial operations specialist plays a pivotal role in the success of our rapidly growing eCommerce business. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, performing regular audits and reconciliations to ensure clean books, and providing timely and actionable financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records across all accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and amortizations.
  • Perform monthly audits and reconciliations to identify errors or inconsistencies and ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Prepare accurate monthly profit and loss statements and comprehensive financial reports for management review.
  • Provide monthly financial analysis highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or growth.
Daily Financial Operations:
  • Record daily sales transactions from multiple eCommerce platforms and reconcile payment processor accounts.
  • Process and manage accounts payable, including vendor payments and expense tracking.
  • Handle monthly inventory valuation and COGS recognition, including physical counts and reconciliations.
Strategic Financial Support:
  • Support forecasting activities and budget preparation, as well as special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Partner with leadership to deliver clear financial reporting and recommend process improvements.
  • Conduct month-end closing procedures and reconcile all accounts.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in bookkeeping with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Prior eCommerce client experience is essential.
  • Solid grasp of inventory accounting, amortization, and cost recognition methodologies.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data into actionable business insights.
  • High attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy in all financial work.
  • Independent work style - comfortable working autonomously and proactively solving problems.
